i wanted to be a blue man… pt 2

I did however fail to come to the realization that I have NO acting experience and besides really liking movies, and having a friend that was in the gilmore girls, I don’t have any real knowledge or acting skills to fall back on for this portion of the audition.
What I did have was an eagerness to achieve, desire to have a job, and desperation to feel impressive. I went in with nothing but high hopes.
I was greeted by two lovely brits that asked for name, which made them make the statement “oh, your the drummer!” – which i took as a very good sign… I was then asked to tell a story. Something true, and from my past. I knew just what to do. I went with the story of the time that I put my jeep under a lake, which is a classic, and I can go into later, but to keep myself from digressing too long, it is a good one that involves tennage boys, 4 X 4, and too much water.
After telling the story, I was asked one of the strangest questions that I have ever been asked in my life. I was asked to tell the story again, but this time, “tell the story from the perspective of the jeep” and make up a “jeep language” so as to not use english or any other words.
I thought for about 30 seconds, and then did the only thing that I could do. I made up a jeep language. And told the story again.
I need a few drinks to ever do this again in person, but I will let you use your imagination. It is pretty much the most embarassing moment of my life.
In hindsight, I can see things that I could have done better, but in all honesty, I really like my job, and esp the fact that I don’t have to wear blue paint to work. Although, I do sometimes have to wear a jumpsuit, I think that is way better.
Hey bro!
I’m uncomfortable even thinking about that situation. A jeep language…… I can’t even come up with anything else to say. Woah.
