blow out #2

by David on September 6, 2006

so i was in nashville with paul and jake, playing with tim wildman. the weekend is great and we met some great people. we had just finished worship and we about to load up to head home when i go outside to move the van into position, it was parked in gravel. much to my dismay i find the 1992 dodge ram 15 passenger van is sitting offully lopsided. sure enough the front right tire is flat. (the same tire that blew out in birmingham) so i get out the gear and begin to start the process that i am too familar with by this point when i realize that the tire iron, the tool to loosen the lug nuts, is for the wrong vehicle. it doesn’t fit. so i borrow one. i loosen the nuts and then begin to jack the previously unoticed behemoth of a vehicle when i then realize that the jack doesn’t lift high enough. i borrow a jack from a toyota camry. it obviously doesn’t work either. so then me and a older gentleman from the church begin the process of raising one, then putting stuff under the other, then repeating the process until it is tall enough to get the full size spare onto the axle. (all of this with my shirt on because there are campers around…so i am dripping in sweat, even on a beautiful tennesee day)

this is where the story goes downhill. all that is left that is crazy is that i didn’t go to sleep that night until 3:30am because of the vehicular problems.

i don’t like tires anymore.
