abide

john 15:5 – 5
“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”
abide has a couple of definitions… to act in accordance with, to be unable to tolerate, and to continue without fading or being lost. but the archaic version of the word means to live or dwell. this is the abide that john talks about. it is more than just thought of the Father everyday. more than recognizing him as God. it is these things but it is more. it is about dwelling within him. finding your life in him. finding your identity, power, rest, direction, life. literally living within Father
you can’t do it on your own. not even close. you have to surrender to dwell within him. to remain in him. not just the moment but all of life, in him.
